New Image: Northern Bobwhite

© jmillerphoto.com - Northern Bobwhite (Male)

The first of the new batch of images is now online in my galleries.  This image is of an adult male Northern Bobwhite (Colinus virginianus), made near San Angelo, Texas.  It took me a long time to make an image of a Northern Bobwhite that I was happy with.  This marks the third image I have of a “Nobo” in the portfolio, joining an adult male and an adult female.  Getting the focus right on these birds can be a bit of a trick, as the natural camouflage patterns on their feathers can sometimes play havoc with auto focus.  But on this one, at full resolution, the feathers are crisp and well defined.

This image, like all of my other images, is available in sizes up to 11×14.
