Another new image has been added to gallery as of this morning.  This is another of my growing group of Northern Cardinals (Cardinalis cardinalis).

One would not believe it by the quantities that have made it to the site, but it took me forever to get a Northern Cardinal shot that I really liked.  They would fly into our backyard in San Angelo, but their circle of fear is so large that within the confines of a standard back yard there was never going to be an opportunity to make a good image.  What helped me were the bird blinds at both San Angelo State Park and South Llano River State Park–within these structures the birds were more comfortable with the presence of humans and they will come in relatively close.

They are beautiful birds with very expressive personalities.  And more importantly to me, they have been very kind to my camera over the last couple of years.

As always, prints are available up to 11×14.
